Retired….also known as unemployed…but I prefer the former.

Truly, I believe that we have it all backwards. We should be retired when we’re young and work when we’re old. I mean really, what better am I going to have to do when I’m old, might as well work. Now…now I don’t want to work, I want to live!

Ok so maybe my past week+ hasn’t been THAT exciting, but when’s the last time you roller bladed, ice deli-ed…twice, planted a garden (or garden to be), biked, walked with friends, ate-drank-and-sunned at the golf course in the middle of the day, cleared out your DVR, played with fun little kids, grilled out, ran a 5k blinged out in glitter and fake diamonds, went to a Cardinals game, made chocolate pancakes, facebooked-pinterested-and-buzzfed, ate straight out of the ice cream carton, got your hair did, watched a storm roll in, country cruised, did no laundry, and had back to back lunch dates with family…all in a matter of 10 massively unproductive days!? I mean honestly, I could get used to this!! Ya, so maybe I haven’t mastered this ‘work from home’ thing yet…but I’ve always been a procrastinator right!?

I’m moving, so I’ve been a busy bee packing…and I came across a couple old scrapbooks. Crazy. Talk about a walk down memory lane! 🙂 Here are a couple pages from my past…

Finally time for a sweet summer road trip to my Soul City…St. Louis. I love you St. Louis. And you my loyal reader, get a whole weeks worth of days in one post thanks to my getaway. Starting with my passenger seat. As you can see I’m all ready for a relaxing week ahead: my book, tea and strawberries. Add a lil country music and I’m road ready!

First stop: Busch Stadium. Heaven on Earth. I was lucky enough to be there for LaRussa’s Retirement Ceremony. Amazing.

Such an incredible night! ❤

After an amazing night at the ball park, I went for a run in Forest Park, shopping at my favorite Trader Joe’s and…the Zoo. I LOVE zoo’s! Visiting the top 5 Zoo’s in the nation is totally on my bucket list. In the meantime, the St. Louis Zoo is one of my all time favs…lions and tigers and bears, Oh My!

The next morning, I stopped at City Garden. I love these fountains that come spraying up out of the ground, especially at night with bright colors coming out of the water. It’s refreshing to see all the little kids laughing and screaming running through the water. It reminds me of one of those slow motion moments in the movies, where you have to take time to savor everything right in the world…like happy children and bright sunny days.

Later that day, I went to the St. Louis Arch. I’ve been there plenty of times in the past but it’s still breathtaking. It represents happiness to me. And this is a great picture if I do say so myself. Two in one day? Ya, but so worth it.

This next one is from Dinner the following night. I love calamari. Which is strange if you know me, because I rather hate seafood. But I could eat Calamari until my stomach exploded. Admittedly the full out squids are a little hard for me to swallow (no pun intended) but lil calamari rings….mmmm! 🙂

Finally, a perfect vacation, complete with another Cardinal Baseball game. With an amazing person.

Me and B-Randy rooting for the good guys on a cool, perfect baseball night. ::sigh:: Until next time STL…

I love making different flavors of cupcakes, but I also like decorating. Now this hardly counts because it’s super simple; but I made a vanilla cupcake and iced it with vanilla icing. Then used red gel to add my favorite logo of all time 😉 Tasted as good as they looked! Go Cards!

Opening Weekend

It was FINALLLY time for the Cardinals home opener! For those of you who haven’t kept up since the beginning, this means party bus, all-inclusive tickets, World Series rings, and fun, fun, fun! I have been waiting for months for this day to arrive! I was left in charge of muffins for the early morning ride, which was perfect! So today and tomorrows cupcakes are more of the muffin type; but nonetheless delicious! I made strawberry muffins and grape moscato muffins (both pinterest finds!). Sorry for the less than perfect pictures!

They went perfect with our Mimosa’s and Bloody Mary’s! 😉

Yadi, My Yadi

Well for those of you who know me, you may know I’m married. Ok, so maybe it’s in that creepy-fantasy-I-dream-about-being-married-to-you-guy-who-doesn’t-even-know-me way, but nonetheless married. To whom you ask? The one and only, Yadier Molina. ::SIGH::  He is so dreamy! Plus, he’s hands down the best defensive catcher in the major leagues and he wears Cardinal Red. Dream man? Yes! No but really, he waved at me once…check it out:

My amazing friend Grace got Commissioner’s Box seats once and took me with her (have I told you how much I love her? Oh ya, see day 5). So naturally when Yadi got on first in the 3rd inning I was calling out to him…ok maybe a lot and loud…and finally he was no longer able to contain himself. He laughed, looked right at me and waved! ::BIGGERSIGH:: I could have died and died a happy woman with a complete life.

So it seemed only fitting to send my husband a card. He will probably never read it; but yes, I sent Yadier Molina a card.

19 days and counting

Today we are officially in the teens on the countdown to the best day ever. My Aunt Mitzi had this BRILLIANT idea for Christmas to get everyone to go down to a Cardinals game together. So her and my dad went to work and came up with the greatest gift ever! A huge group of us are going down on a party bus with party box seats (read: free food and drinks) and watching the Cardinals dominate the Cubs during home opening weekend. Yes, that means we get to watch the ring presentation and get replica rings. ❤ SO excited!! As you can see from my card to Mitzi, Clyde and Kels….

Happy St. Patrick’s Day

St. Patrick’s day cards are so fun. And I love sending holiday cards to people for random holidays! (I know Hallmark loves me!) So this was the perfect occasion for me! I sent a St. Patty’s Card to my friend Katie. Katie and I are friends for so many reasons! But let me tell you…#1 reason….we LOVE the Cardinals. Ok, perhaps our love could be confused for obsession. But really, it is such a passion for both of us. And not in that oh-let-me-wear-a-cute-little-red-dress-to-the-ballpark-to-get-some-sun-wait-who’s-up-to-bat girly kind of way! We are serious about our baseball! And for that reason and many others….I love Katie! 🙂 So happy St. Patty’s Day Katie (and yes this means only 19 more days until opening day!!)

Scentsy, Cardinals, FroYo…what more could you ask for!?

Day 7 I sent a ‘Have-A-Fabulous-Day-and-I-Miss-You’ kind of card to Candace and her son Logan. I met Candace at a Scentsy party (she was the consultant) and I decided to have a party. Then, I decided to sell Scentsy and we have been friends ever since. We have done a ton of events together and I’ve gotten to know her pretty well. She’s a cardinals fan, she obviously love scentsy, she goes to this frozen yogurt place in JVille called the Frozen Penguin (which I really want to check out sometime!), she loves pinterest, she likes country music AND Adelle….we’re basically the same person! **Except she’s way more organized, mature and crafty than I!**

And she has the cutest little boy in the world…Logan. ((Who I would be happy to bbsit anytime btw!)) He is so stinking adorable you just can’t help but love this kid. And he loves the Cardinals too. Last year when I was talking to him he couldn’t decide if Pujols or Yadi was his favorite…looks like this year, we’ll be sharing favorites! 🙂

Unfortunately, I have been so busy I haven’t been doing much with Scentsy so I haven’t seen Candace or Logan in a very long time and I miss their smiling faces!

My Gracie Lou

Day 5, I sent a card to one of my very best friends. This girl has been here for me through more than I could ever begin to explain. I met Grace at snowball and forever am I thankful for being talked into going to that crazy lock-in because I met more life long friends than a person could ask for. Grace is the number one example of this. I wish I had more words to describe Grace and I, but I’m pretty sure we are just soul mates. She gets me. She puts up with me. She makes me laugh. Grace is this amazing, sunshine-y person who also has this sassy, pistol side to her. She (for reasons unbeknownst to me) decided to join the military; since she has traveled near and far and I rarely get to see her. But every time I do, it’s like no time was lost. Plus, I was able to talk some sense into her and brought her to the bright side. I converted her from a cubs fan to a Cards Fan. She will forever be indebted to me, but I’ll never hold it over her head. It’s that bond we have. 🙂  And no her middle name is not Lou, but she’s forever my Gracie Lou.
